First Day of Kindergarten

She did it! She's started school. We are so proud of her. M has had seperation issues throughout various times the last few years...two preschools, swimming lessons, community classes and playdates. Kindergarten was a huge step. We knew it was going to be interesting, we anticipated some early morning drama and a bus stop meltdown. But she did it. She didn't really sleep the whole night before but she did it. She got on the bus, got off at the correct school with a smile on her face and when I picked her up at 10:15 she was still smiling.

I joked with her mom afterwards that as glad as I am that she had a good first day and that she didn't have any issues, we felt a lot less needed. She went from that little girl gripping your neck asking, begging, pleading you not to leave her to a 5 year old who's on her way.

M's first day and T's second day waiting at the bus stop.
