Henry's Dedication

"These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." Dueteronomy 6:5-9

Today Henry was dedicated at our church. We believe dedication is committing to raising him up in the way of Christ. Also to us, dedication is giving him back to the one who gave him to us.

"For this child we prayed and the Lord has granted us what we have asked. Therefore we also grant him to the Lord. That all the days of his life he is granted to the Lord." 1 Samuel 1:27-28

We had a brunch at our home before church, here's Henry and great grandma Tilkens.

Then the church service and dedication service. It was all very nice. We are so lucky to have family and friends nearby to celebrate with us. As I sat in church I reflected on how fortunate we are and Henry is to have so many people who love him and care to be a part of such a special day.

My sister <www.atilkens.blogspot.com> and Abbie came in to town for the weekend. It was SO great to see both of them. They were Henry's sponsors.

Abbie stayed with us and so it was really nice to be able to spend time together. We went shopping on Saturday and I've found a new favorite store. www.anntaylorloft.com
