Rewind...

We've got a lot of catching up to do good, faithful friends.

Last Friday Abbie and Chris came to our house for the weekend. They got in late Friday night and me, trying to be a good hostess had some nice yummy snacks prepared.
I made some Tastefully Simple Beer Bread, Spinach and Herb Dip and Warm From the Oven Cheese Dip along with some BBQ Weiners. It was nice to chat and snack once they were here.

Saturday morning, they joined us at swimming lessons and then J and Chris decided they would tackle the project of installing our storm door.
Though they were both initially quite nervous about taking over this task right before the big party, they did great. And they found they enjoyed doing projects together.
Now that that project is checked off, I'd love to schedule a time for Chris to come and help J finish the basement...hint, hint. The Big Party! He was SO excited!

It was great. I had made Henry his "smash" cake and then I made cupcakes and frosted them into a 1.

We also got a free cake from Byerly's since he turned one.
We had lots of friends and family here, and even though we told all that H doesn't need a thing and gifts aren't necessary...H got a lot of stuff. He is so blessed to have so many people that love him.

He got everything from savings bonds to yellow Crocs, a Mickey Ride A Long toy to so cute outfits.
After H opened his gifts, we sang Happy Birthday and he enjoyed his cake.
Actually, he really enjoyed the frosting.
He did make a mess, though I'm not sure how much he actually ate.

Some of our friends and family left after that but Hayley, Holly and Chris stayed and hung out with our family and Chris and Abbie.
Sunday morning we enjoyed some delicious carmel rolls for breakfast and the kids played some Uno with Abbie and Chris, while H started to figure out how some of his new toys work.

We had lunch at Noodles and Company and then bid adieu to our weekend guests. It was so fun having them we were sad to see them go.
Sunday night we also got a visit from Melissa, who was still here for her work trip. It was very fun chatting and catching up with her. We tried to hit the sack early after our very busy, eventful weekend.

Monday came quickly and with it was the start of the baseball season for T and M's spring music concert.
Here she is with her classmate, Jonah.
This is her music teacher, Mrs. Hathaway. She is very nice, but I think she's been teaching a little too long. This was actually the best (and shortest) concert we've been to yet. When she did T's kindergarten and first grade concerts, she did more talking than the kids did singing.
Here is M with her teacher, Mrs. Ryan.
Tuesday! The BIG day! H turned one officially and J and I celebrated three years.
This year for H's birthday we got him a Dog Puppet and purchased a savings bond for him. After the blessings he's received from family and friends we thought it'd be best to save the money we would have spent, rather than buy him more things.
The birthday morning tradition of cinnamon rolls. Yum.

H had a great first birthday! It's so fun to think that he is ONE. J and I also had a good anniversary, though we'll celebrate this weekend downtown.

Thank you for all the birthday and anniversary wishes! If you didn't get a chance to see the video from the other day because of technical difficulties, I am so sorry but it is all fixed now, so please enjoy viewing it if you haven't already. Here is a direct link to the You Tube site/my video.

Today is H's One Year Check up. So we'll play another round of "Guess How Big Henry Is"
For a refresher at his 9 month check up he weighed in at 21 lbs 13 ounces and was 29 inches long.
The closest guesser will get a special treat in the mail from H himself :)
I'm going to close the comments before we leave for the appointment at about 2:30pm so get your guess in!!

Just a little fun for a Thursday!
PS Be sure and wish Megan a happy Birthday today!

23 lbs, 14 oz, and 33.75 inches tall!

So many events happening all at once...I haven't known which to comment on first!

So, I guess it's best to start with HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to the creators of the birthday boy, Henry! You two are to be congratulated on three years chock-full of milestones, adventures, blogging, hopital/doctor visits, birthday parties, working, stupid parent tricks (NOT YOURS, but sheesh, some of those people you write about???) Blessings to you both!!

Then there's the BB, Henry. What a cutie!!!

And Maddie and Tyler? Somethin' else as they teach you how to be
mom and dad to older children.

You have sure had a lot of life lessons in three short years!

Keep living, loving and smiling...and WRITING about it!
