Vote HERE!
It's your chance to vote! H needs a new carseat...he's been in his infant carrier since he was born and he's just too stinking big for it...he hasn't hit the weight/height limits YET but it's awkward to carry now and his little feets are hanging over the end (hanging over enough for his mother to catch his shoes in the door)
So I've been doing some car seat research (baby gear has replaced my love of clothes/purses!, well not really replaced...but its taken precedence)
We are getting a Britax (www.britaxusa.net) and it would have been purchased and installed by now if only I could make up my mind of which pattern to get...so that's where you come in. Please vote for your favorite choice of the three...now remember a baby will be in the seat.
I'll make sure to take a picture of H in the seat once I finally make up my mind and we get it. (Jeff says a carseat is a carseat, so he's not much help in the decision!) *
GRAY MICRODOT #1
LAZY DAYS GRAY #2
ONYX #3
*disclaimer: i may or may not take your advice...* this voting poll ends wednesday 9/20/06 at 6pm. thanks for your vote!
Added 9/19/06 12:02pm:All three seats have removable/machine washable seat covers. The Onyx is not vinyl, it's almost like a faux leather material with the plush sides. The Gray Microdot and Lazy Days Gray are both microfiber/plush. Thanks for voting!

We have the lazy days gray...but the gray microdot wasn't an option! I love polka dots so I vote for Gray Microdot.

I would pick the color that blends in very nicely with Henry's spit-up.
The One Who is Not Much Help - AKA Jeff
I would go Lazy Days Gray - the onyz is too dark, all the fuzz and "spit" will show to easily. Mumsy aka Grandma
Samara dear, the onyz looks like it might be able to be wiped down. I would choose that one. But if not i would vote for either gray ones...i really think they are the exact same ones. :) Only mommy knows best. Lots of love.

i vote for onyx #3, it looks more durable and washable than the other fabric. my second choice would be the polka dot one, courtney says it's really cute in person!
jeff - hopefully your wife won't be able to think of another baby gear necessity anytime soon! for your sake that is!

stacey has a good point with the whole wiping-down aspect of the onyx seat (is it vinyl, whereas the others are plush?)...but the gray ones just look so soft and squishy and comfy! apparently jeff and i would get along just great, because i seem to be no help at all either. my problem is not so much apathy as it is complete and sheer indecisiveness, though (ask my husband. ordering at a restaurant is a nightmare for me)!
I would go Lazy Days Gray.
Daddio!
re: your comment on the smells of autumn and apples.....preach it, sister! i can't tell you how giddy i am that it's here. if you have any good apple recipes, send 'em over - and may i highly recommend the applesauce for your little ones, if they're fans? my young nieces and nephews love helping, checking on it and of course mashing it at the end with the potato masher. a friend of mine who's a mom recommends freezing them in ice cube trays for easily-microwaveable meals for wee ones, like henry. look at me, i don't even have kids yet, and i'm dispensing advice. sorry if that's annoying. :)
you. are. SO FUNNY! girl, i totally used a pillsbury crust last night for my chicken pot pie. i told steve (who always goes on and on about the pies of his country-bred youth) that i should really make it with homemade crust, and he (while licking the baking dish clean, honest) said, "WHY? it's perfect just like it is!". so funny.
thanks for the apple pie recipe - i'll have to try it!
oh, and fyi: my friend actually ice cubes EVERYthing you could think of that can be pureed. sweet potatoes? bake them, put them in the food processor, and into ice cube trays. nuke and serve. she has bags and bags of ice cube food in her freezer, and it was always so great sitting for her, b/c all i'd have to do is pop an ice cube in the microwave for gavin's dinner! fabulous! :)
I also agree on the lazy Days. Love the Gray..
Love you Great Auntie..
