Twenty Five

I love, love, LOVE birthdays. (As noted in my list of 100 things...#91)

And like my parents, friends and husband would tell you.

Especially my own.

It's my birthday.

Today.

Growing up my parents always made sure to make me feel special on my birthday.

I would be so excited for my birthday I would make myself sick.

The morning of my special day my parents would have cinnamon rolls and I could open up the gifts from them.

They have hilarious pictures and videos showing these very humorous very early mornings over the years.

My first birthday away from home, my friend Abbie surprised me with rolls from Ann Sather. It was such a fun surprise.

Last night J and I celebrated my birthday.

He arranged for the babysitter and made all the plans, and that alone was enough of a birthday surprise for any girl!

We went to the Chanhassen Dinner Theater and saw the play The Male Intellect: An Oxymoron.
It was a very nice dinner.

A very nice show.

And a very nice time.
Funny how the older you get, the less your birthday gets celebrated. For some it comes and goes without even a mention, unless it's a monumental age.

Funny to think how I pictured myself at twenty-five as a teen. Though I most likely wouldn't have pictured the way my life is now; I wouldn't change anything.

Though some would say I've been a 'grown-up' for some time, the age 25 really symbolizes being a grown up.

(I mean come on...now I can even rent a car!)

I'm twenty five.

I'm a real-live grown-up.

I really couldn't be happier.

(And a special happy birthday greeting to my college friend Sarah, who shares the exact same date of birth as me. Leave her a special message on her blog)

Wow, 25 years ago, We remember it still quite well. There was an awful snowstorm just following your birth. As dad shared with you, he was concerned for his life as he drove back to the hospital the day following your birth. We both wish you a wonderful birthday, we will see you tomorrow. Love you forever, Like you for always! Mumsy & Daddio
