The Seventeenth of April

April 17th.

This day will always be a special day for me because of three defining events.

April 17th, 2004 is the day I married J.

I became a wife.

April 17th, 2004 is also the day that I became a stepmother to T and M.

I became a parent.

April 17th, 2006 is the day H was born.

I became a mother.

Because there are so many words I could say, so many pictures I could show, I decided to make a short video of what the seventeenth of April means to me. (If you are having trouble getting the movie to load just click on the picture and it will open in You Tube, it's about 10 minutes long) So Sorry for those of you having trouble with the video, if you click on the video and go to You Tube it should now work...I promise! So sorry!

Music: Somebody Like You by Keith Urban, Fly by Sara Groves, Excavate by Wes King, Beautiful Day by U2 and You Cannot Lose My Love by Sara Groves.

To my husband...I love you. So glad our paths crossed one November night at Starbucks. Thanks for growing old with me.

To T...I love you. Thanks for teaching me patience. Making me laugh. And loving me despite me.

To M...I love you more than anything you say. Ha! I beat you to it. Thank you for teaching me to slow down and treasure the moments.

To H...I love you. Can't imagine a life without you. Wouldn't change one single thing.

booooo, i can't get it to load. can you e-mail the link to me? when i click on the video, youtube tells me it's a private video. btw, thanks for posting henry's birth story. somehow i never read it, and it was at once incredibly moving, enlightening and amusing. i'm now both eager and scared out of my wits to have children! :)

samara, i had tears in my eyes from start to finish. what a wonderful tribute to your family, to love, to the legacy you are creating together. what a journey it has been for you and jeff. i'm so grateful that we are friends, and that i get to observe - even from the blogosphere - how that journey continues to unfold. you are an inspiration to me.
